Experimental Status – No Official Medical Approval

The laser-based iris depigmentation / “laser eye color brightening” technique, commonly referred to as MyLumineyes®, is currently in the experimental clinical phase. It has not been approved, certified, or recognized by any national or international medical authority. Long-term scientific confirmation requires extensive, multi-stage studies, which are still ongoing.

It is not yet known how safe, predictable, effective, or stable the MyLumineyes® / laser eye color change method is in the long term. Regulatory approval has not been granted, and the procedure should be considered developmental and non-standard.

No Guarantee of Results – Possibility of No Change

The MyLumineyes® procedure does not guarantee:

  • any specific final eye color,
  • any level of lightening,
  • symmetrical results between the two eyes,
  • or even any visible change at all.

Biological responses vary widely. Some individuals may show significant improvement, others may require many sessions, and a portion of individuals may show little or no visible response despite correct laser application. This is a known and accepted outcome of the experimental nature of the procedure.

The clinic does not guarantee session count, duration, speed of change, the stability of the result, or the degree of visibility in different lighting environments. These variables are unpredictable.

Uncertainty of Protocol and Treatment Parameters

A universally standardized protocol for session number, laser count, energy levels, or total treatment duration does not yet exist for MyLumineyes®. Every individual requires a different approach depending on iris structure, pigmentation density, and healing response.

It cannot be predicted how many sessions will be required or whether the expected outcome will be reached. The result may differ in bright light, dim light, indoor or outdoor environments. Many independent biological factors affect this variability and cannot be fully foreseen.

About Expectations and Patient Responsibility

It is not known how closely the MyLumineyes® process will match your personal expectations. Some patients with high or unrealistic expectations may not be satisfied even when objective photographic evidence shows improvement.

If you have:

  • very high expectations,
  • a limited financial budget,
  • or difficulty coping with uncertainty, gradual changes, or biologically variable outcomes,

you should not begin this process.

While MyLumineyes® may offer more natural outcomes compared to keratopigmentation or artificial iris implants, its long-term safety and aesthetic stability have not been proven or guaranteed.

Eye Color Simulations Are Not Predictions

Any digital simulations, previews, or sample images shown on this website are illustrative only and do not represent a guaranteed or exact final result. No simulation can predict your biological response.

Risks, Side Effects, and Unknowns

Like all medical interventions—especially experimental ones—this procedure carries potential risks. Side effects may include discomfort, inflammation, uneven color change, asymmetry, sensitivity, or other unpredictable reactions. Rare but serious complications can occur, and long-term effects are still under evaluation.

Glaucoma / Pigment Dispersion Notice
