Copyright & Content Use Policy

MyLumineyes® publishes original clinical, scientific and educational material for an international audience. Public accessibility does not place that material in the public domain. Copyright and other applicable rights are reserved internationally to the fullest extent provided by applicable national law, international treaties and regional intellectual-property law.

International rights reserved Limited quotation permitted Attribution required No unauthorized derivative use AI / TDM rights reserved where applicable
Core principle

You may cite the work. You may not appropriate it.

Limited quotation for scholarship, criticism, education, journalism or similar legitimate purposes may be made where permitted by applicable law, provided that the use is proportionate to its purpose and the original author and source are clearly identified.

Attribution does not create permission to reproduce, republish, translate, adapt, redesign, commercialize or redistribute a substantial part of MyLumineyes® content, nor does it authorize another person or organization to adopt an original MyLumineyes research framework, terminology system or classification as its own.

Original scientific terminology

Attribution is permitted. Appropriation is not.

MyLumineyes® research includes authored terminology, abbreviations, classifications and framework names developed within the work of Mustafa Mete, MD. These terms may be named and discussed in scholarly or professional work when their origin is accurately attributed. Unauthorized adoption as another party's own framework identity, methodology label, commercial designation or independently originated terminology is not permitted to the extent enforceable under applicable law.

Additional original terminology This list is illustrative and does not limit protection or attribution requirements for other original terminology published in the archive.
Scholarly-use rule: A researcher may write, for example, “Selective Stromal Melanin Modulation (SSMM), as proposed by Mete…” and cite the originating work. The term may not be stripped of its provenance and presented as the user's own terminology, renamed and redistributed as a derivative framework, or used in a way that falsely implies authorship, ownership, affiliation or endorsement.

This policy does not claim that every isolated word, short phrase or abbreviation is independently protected by copyright in every jurisdiction. Protection and remedies may instead arise, depending on the circumstances, from copyright in the underlying authored work, trademark rights, unfair-competition law, passing-off principles, contractual rights or other applicable intellectual-property law.
Attribution

Citation does not transfer ownership

When MyLumineyes® research, terminology or scientific material is discussed, the originating author or framework should be identified at first substantive use. Where possible, a direct link, DOI or conventional scholarly citation should accompany the reference.

Example: Mete M. Selective Stromal Melanin Modulation (SSMM). MyLumineyes Research. Cite and link to the relevant originating research record.

Proper attribution permits identification and lawful quotation; it does not itself authorize substantial reproduction, adaptation or commercial reuse.

International protection

Machine-readable rights reservation

AI training, text and data mining and automated extraction

To the fullest extent that applicable law permits a rights holder to reserve such uses, MyLumineyes® expressly reserves rights in relation to automated reproduction, extraction and text-and-data mining of protected website content.

Unauthorized use

Infringing or misleading use may be challenged

Where appropriate and legally available, unauthorized reproduction, adaptation, republication, false attribution, commercial appropriation, removal of authorship information or misleading use of original research material may lead to requests for immediate removal, correction, preservation of evidence, platform or hosting-provider notices, claims for injunctive relief, monetary remedies and other remedies available under the applicable jurisdiction.

Depending upon the jurisdiction and facts, enforcement may be pursued under copyright, trademark, unfair-competition, passing-off, contractual or related intellectual-property law.

Nothing on this page suggests that a remedy is automatic. Liability, defences, exceptions, jurisdiction and remedies remain dependent upon the applicable law and individual circumstances.

Separate publication licences

A specific publication may have its own licence

Certain journal articles, repository deposits, preprints or DOI records may be distributed under a licence specific to that version of the work. Where a valid work-specific licence applies, its terms govern the licensed copy to the extent of the rights granted by that licence.

This website-wide policy does not revoke rights already granted under a valid work-specific licence and does not expand restrictions beyond those permitted by applicable law.

No waiver

Online publication is not a waiver of rights

Search-engine indexing, social-media sharing, hyperlinking, DOI assignment, public accessibility or publication within the MyLumineyes Research Archive does not, by itself, constitute abandonment, transfer or waiver of copyright or other applicable intellectual-property rights.

Permissions

Need to reproduce, translate or adapt material?

Permission requests should identify the exact material, intended use, publication or platform, territory, proposed modifications and whether the proposed use is commercial or non-commercial.
